Hey everyone! I’d like to share a
little information with you. You see my close friend’s sister has a disorder called autism. Not many people have heard
of it before. But if you or a loved one has/had it you know what the symptoms are. Autism is a disorder that
affects a person’s communication and social interaction. It is usually connected with intellectual impairment. Also, it usually causes preoccupation with fantasy, language
impairment, and irregular behavior, such as repetitive acts and excessive attachment to certain objects. Today,
1 in 166 individuals is diagnosed with autism, making it more common than pediatric cancer, diabetes, and AIDS combined. (Autism
Speaks, 2006). It is four times more likely to strike a boy than a girl.
There is still no cure to autism
today. But there are therapies and interventions to help it.
